And the Award Goes To
November 24th, 2011
The American situation sitcom that has been on air for 3 seasons, has received numerous nominations, and has won quite a few of these nominations, in the few years that it has been on air. Some of the nominations the show has been given include: being nominated for 7 TV Critic Awards and winning 3, being nominated for 6 Writers Guild of America Award Nominations and winning 3, being nominated for 3 Director’s Guild Awards and winning 2, 5 nominations for Screen Actor’s Guild Awards with one win, 4 Golden Glob nominations, and a total of 31 Emmy Award nominations, and taking home 11 of these nominations.
In 2010, the show was nominated for the Golden Globe for Best TV series in musical or comedy. And in 2010 it won best episodic comedy, best new series, and the best comedy series on TV. The show also won best oustanding performance by an ensemble in a comedy series in 2011, and was nominated for several other awards this current award season. In 2009, the show won the excellence in casting at the Peabody Awards as well. Along with these victories, the show has also won at the GLADD Media Awards shows, the Directors Guild Awards, Imagen Foundation Awards, and a list long of other award shows where it has been both nominated, and taken home several trophies, both for actors and actresses, as well as the show as a whole.
Modern Family has also received rave reviews and award nominations, as well as a couple of victories, for the writing, directors, and the cast members, as the most outstanding comedy series on air. So, whether it is a nomination, or whether the show has taken home the award, in three short seasons, it has raked in more nominations and victories than some previous shows and series on TV have been able to do, which were on air for far longer than three seasons. So, whether you love the writing, cast, actors, or the show in general, it continually takes over standings and award shows.
